Laundry Renovations FAQs in Parkdale

How can laundry carpentry improve a Parkdale home?

Athans Building Services can update a laundry’s layout with practical carpentry that makes better use of the available space. Work may include fitting cabinets and shelves, adding broom storage, or creating room for a linen cupboard. The right changes can make everyday tasks easier while keeping the laundry suited to the home.

What storage can be added during renovation?

Storage options depend on the laundry’s size and layout. Athans Building Services can fit cabinets and shelves, build a dedicated broom cupboard, or add a linen cupboard where space allows. Benchtop supports and finished cabinetry can also help organise the room and make useful surfaces available.

Can appliance spaces be prepared around existing plumbing?

Athans Building Services can create or adjust openings for washing machines and dryers, while planning the carpentry around the laundry’s plumbing and electrical requirements. The appliance positions and available clearances need to be considered before work begins, so the finished layout can accommodate the services and equipment.

Do laundry renovations include moisture resistant wall materials?

Where the laundry requires it, Athans Building Services can install moisture resistant substrates as part of the carpentry work. The suitable preparation depends on the area being renovated and the planned finishes. Plumbing work may need to be coordinated separately, so the wall preparation suits the room’s requirements.

Why might laundry layouts need changes in Parkdale?

A layout may need changing when cupboards take up useful space, appliances don’t fit comfortably, or access to an outdoor area could be improved. Athans Building Services can assess the existing laundry and plan carpentry updates around its available space, storage needs and service locations.

What happens to old cupboards during the work?

Old cupboards can be removed as part of the laundry renovation, making room for a new arrangement of cabinets, shelves or appliance spaces. Athans Building Services can also fit doors, trims and skirtings as needed to finish the updated area. The work depends on the existing structure and renovation plan.
