Laundry Renovations FAQs in Oakleigh

How can laundry carpentry improve storage in Oakleigh?

Athans Building Services can fit laundry cabinets, shelves and broom storage to make better use of the available space. The layout can be planned around the way the household uses the room, with practical storage that keeps everyday items accessible and helps the laundry feel more organised.

What can be changed in a laundry layout?

Carpentry can update the position and arrangement of cupboards, shelves, doors and appliance openings. Athans Building Services can also add benchtop supports, skirtings and trims to suit the new layout. The changes are planned to make the room more practical while allowing for existing plumbing and electrical connections.

Can you prepare spaces for washing machines and dryers?

Athans Building Services can create or adjust openings and prepare the surrounding carpentry so washing machines and dryers fit the planned layout. This can include making room for appliance doors to open and ensuring storage or benchtops don’t obstruct access. The space is considered alongside the appliance sizes and positions.

Do laundry renovations need materials suited to damp areas?

Moisture resistant substrates may be appropriate where laundry surfaces are exposed to damp conditions. Athans Building Services can include these in the carpentry work where required, helping prepare the area for its intended finishes. The materials and placement depend on the room’s condition and the renovation plans.

Why add a linen cupboard to laundry renovations?

A linen cupboard can provide useful storage for towels, sheets and household supplies without relying on laundry cabinets alone. Athans Building Services can incorporate one into the carpentry layout where space allows, helping keep items close at hand and making the room work better for the household.

How is plumbing and electrical work handled during renovations?

Laundry carpentry is planned to accommodate the required plumbing and electrical work, but those services need to be completed by the relevant trades. Athans Building Services can prepare cabinetry, appliance spaces and surrounding finishes to suit the layout, with the work arranged around the service requirements for the Oakleigh home.
