Kitchen Renovations FAQs

How are old kitchen cupboards removed safely?

Athans Building Services can remove existing cupboards as part of a kitchen renovation in Cheltenham and nearby suburbs. The work is planned around the kitchen’s layout and the condition of the surrounding walls, so the space can be prepared for the next stage of the renovation.

Can kitchen cabinets be fitted to existing layouts?

Yes, cabinets can be fitted to an existing kitchen layout where the space and condition allow. Athans Building Services can assess the cabinetry area, make suitable adjustments and complete the fitting, helping ensure the new cabinets work with the room and its existing features.

What carpentry changes can improve a kitchen layout?

Carpentry changes may include altering non structural partitions or repairing wall framing to suit a revised layout. Athans Building Services can assess the proposed work in your South East Melbourne home and identify suitable changes, while structural alterations may need separate assessment and approval.

How is a kitchen prepared for new trades?

Carpentry can prepare the kitchen space for plumbing, electrical work and new appliances. Athans Building Services can coordinate the relevant preparation with the renovation plan, including suitable framing and access. Licensed trades handle their own plumbing and electrical work.

Can pantry units and islands suit smaller kitchens?

Pantry units and islands can be considered for kitchens of different sizes, depending on the available space and how the room is used. Athans Building Services can discuss the intended layout and assess whether these features can be accommodated without making the kitchen difficult to move around in.

What finishing work completes a kitchen renovation?

Finishing work can include fitting kickboards, doors and trims, building open shelves, and completing details around windows and doorways. Athans Building Services can also attend to cabinet adjustments and splashback backing, helping bring the carpentry work together neatly in your Cheltenham kitchen.
