Bathroom Renovations FAQs in Bentleigh East

What carpentry is included in a bathroom renovation?

Athans Building Services can remove and replace bathroom fixtures, build shower and bath surrounds, install vanities and storage, and fit doors and timber trims. Carpentry may also include repairing wall or floor framing, fitting cabinetry, and finishing skirtings and architraves to suit the updated space.

Can existing bathroom fixtures be removed and replaced?

Yes. The team can remove existing bathroom fixtures and install replacements as part of the renovation. The carpentry work can include preparing the surrounding areas, fitting new shower or bath surrounds, and installing a vanity or storage. The scope depends on the fixtures selected and the condition of the existing structure.

How can a bathroom layout be changed in Bentleigh East?

Changing a bathroom layout may involve adjusting carpentry, storage, or fixture positions to make better use of the available room. For homes in Bentleigh East, Athans Building Services can assess the existing space and discuss the carpentry changes involved. Plumbing and electrical requirements need to be considered alongside the proposed layout.

Do you prepare areas for plumbing and electrical work?

Athans Building Services can prepare openings and complete related carpentry before plumbing and electrical work takes place. The team coordinates these details with the renovation plan, so the framing and surrounding surfaces suit the required services. Plumbing and electrical work itself should be completed by the appropriate licensed trades.

What helps protect bathroom walls and floors from moisture?

Moisture resistant substrates provide a suitable base for bathroom finishes when installed as part of the renovation. Athans Building Services can complete the relevant carpentry and coordinate those details with waterproofing and tiling. The full system needs to be planned together so the wall and floor finishes suit the bathroom's intended use.

How are tiling and carpentry coordinated during renovations?

Carpentry details need to be planned around the waterproofing and tiling work, including substrate preparation, surrounds, trims, and cabinetry. Athans Building Services coordinates the carpentry scope with these stages so the finished edges and surfaces fit together neatly. The order of work depends on the bathroom design and materials selected.
